In every contest there are winners and losers, hard work and teamwork, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
There are the extremely quiet types who for the most part, keep to themselves, and there are the extroverted types who are excellent with people and know how to get things started.
There are also the types who tend to nod along and agree with what the others say without contributing much themselves. All these personalities, along with the many other types out there, can be seen as somewhat negative, and can clash with each other, causing tension and conflict.
So how can a group with such different personalities be expected to avoid conflict and work well together? The best bet is to lay down some ground rules, and possibly some consequences that are reasonable within the workplace, of course if those rules are not followed. Small Size, Diverse Makeup: Any more, and the group may have trouble communicating, let alone agreeing with each other.
When a group works toward a common goal, it allows them to engage in meaningful discussions about the possible ways of achieving that goal, motivating members to "buy into" the project.
